The drawing, set on the steps of a London tube station, addresses the issue of homelessness. It was created for an exhibition in which invited artists were asked to respond to a specific Lent/Easter theme with direct reference to existing works of art. Richard was given the Pietà and chose a contemporary video piece by Sam Taylor-Johnson who in turn referenced Michelangelo’s famous sculpture in St Peter’s, Rome!
